Customer Access: Redesign customer integration
complete
Martin Hahn
When inviting a client to a shared project, the client needed to register and create his own teamgrid account. If I get it right, the client also gets emails that the plan should be upgraded etc.
I find this counter-intuitive. Our clients do not want to use teamgrid as their own software where they also manage their own projects. They want teamgrid to interact with us and have an overview what's going on.

It's done! The customer accesses are now much easier for your customers. We will send you a newsletter shortly. :)

We are already working on improving customer access. In just a few days, it will no longer be necessary for your customers to go through the TeamGrid registration process. Instead, the customer just receives an invitation email, clicks on the link and sets a password. That's it! In addition, we will simplify the user interface for your customers. No more annoying upgrade button and no features that are irrelevant to your customers.

Tobias Hieb: Will it be possible to assign multiple projects to a customer?
Also, will it be possible for the customer to read and write comments and to see the tags applied to tasks?
Tobias Hieb
Andreas Kosmowicz: That's already possible... :)

Tobias Hieb: Oh OK, last time I invited a customer it was not implemented yet. Good to know.

Andreas Kosmowicz: If you set up a customer access for a customer via a project, then you can simply activate the existing customer access for another project. It's just important that you have selected the identical company as the customer of the project.
The customer access sharing settings allow you to define exactly what information and features your customer may use. This also means that your customer may see the tags or even see and write comments. :)

would be great to have a better integration.
My customers won't use it anymore which makes ticketing and task management very hard for us.
Some points here:
– Not possible to assign tags i.e. "important", "blocker", "low-prio" or so.
– Not possible to tag persons in comments; @name doesn't work.

This is also an issue we faced multiple times lately with our clients... Please do not put it too far down on the agenda.

That's really a good point and we know about it. Customer Access needs an redesign from ground up and this is something we have on our agenda.
